Maria serves as the Administrator and Director of Nursing for Unified Pledge Home Health. In addition to her license to practice as a Registered Nurse, she also has a special certification in Wound & Ostomy Care from the Wound Ostomy & Continence Certification Board®.  This board is recognized as the Gold Standard for Certification® in Wound, Ostomy and Continence Care.

Before her decision to create an impact within the local Home Health Industry, Maria worked for 3 years as a Registered Nurse on the Medical Surgical Floor of the West Boca Hospital.  She worked directly with patients, and also supervised her floor as a Charge Nurse. While patient standards are met in a hospital, she always felt going above and beyond for the patient was limited due to the busy work environment. With Unified Pledge, she takes pride in leading a team that has the time go the extra mile in advocating on their patient’s behalf.

Prior to entering the Nursing Industry, Maria also attained a Bachelor’s Degree in Business & Hospitality Management, from Johnson & Wales University in 2005. Including her college years she spent about 8 years in this industry, during which she successfully built and sold her own business.  This Hospitality & Business  background combined with her Nursing Degree, Certifications, and Experience, have all served as an invaluable combination for the training regiment and service model she’s implemented for Unified Pledge Home Health. Patient Care, Comfort, Trust, and Satisfaction are a crucial part of any short term or ongoing care plan, and is what Maria pride’s her company on being able to deliver to the local community.
